Description
The Blues Box Bayou Band is NOT your mama’s accordion band!...The excellent "kick-butt" reputation of The BluesBox Bayou Band has got around... The band packs a very tight and powerful Cajun / zydeco swamp beat style you just can't sit still to! Although they rose from humble beginnings, this zydeco group caught on quickly, entertaining spaghetti feeds to performances at the '09 Sacramento Jazz Jubilee, the Isleton Crawdad Festivals, Six Flags Vallejo, Black Oak Casino, Tuolumne, Gilroy Garlic Festival and many more. To date the Blues Box Bayou Band have released four CD recordings, "Rockin' Bayou Band", "Big Fun", Roadside Attraction, and their new release "Rock a'Bayou". The Blues Box Bayou Band: P.D. Grimaldi takes this band down a Traditional and Zydeco road that just sets folks on fire. This band hails from the central valley of California and has been treating folks to great music for a number of years. This band was chosen to open the festival and perform the fais do do on Friday night (1 of 3 gigs total). I missed them while I was at Balfa Camp this past April , as they were in Lafayette making music and having a grand time in the mother land of Cajun/Creole & Zydeco. Pete has written some material that sends me ... although I am not excitable about new material , the sounds of Blues Box and the lyrics are super audio delights that defines memories ... I gauge this band to be among California's great contributions to the genre. David Mason, Music Director Isleton Crawdad Festival

Feedback
- The Bluesbox Bayou Band was exactly what I was looking for - great entertainers for family and friends. They are talented and, more importantly, enjoy what they do so the the crowd has a great time. They pull the kids into the performance and play a wide variety of good old American music.
The highest compliment I can pay is after my party I booked them for the same party next year.

- Pete and the guys (and gal) were excellent. The music was so good and everyone at the party raved about them.
Also, it's important to me that the band become "part" of the party and they did. They are individually very nice people, very courteous and very accomodating.
I can't give them a high enough rating both for music and presentation.
I highly recommend the band and we look forward to having them back again....maybe for our Xmas party but definitely for next year's summer party.
Thanks.

- I can't express enough how GREAT it was to have this band perform at our party. Not only were they friendly and accomodating, but they really tried to engage the audience, as well as paid special attention to the children who were entranced by the presence of a live band. What a great experience! I'll be seeking out their public performances in the future just to have a chance to say Hi and keep in touch. If I have another event that needs a fantastic Zydeco sound, The BluesBox Bayou Band is my #1 choice! -- Debbie D, San Jose, CA, 8/18/2007
