Description

Keyboardist and singer Dave Keyes, is a New York native, and has been a mainstay on the NYC music scene for over 20 years. He has played keyboards for some of the most important figures of blues, roots and folk music, such as Bo Diddley, Chuck Berry, David Johansen, Gladys Knight, Levon Helm and Odetta just to name a few. This varied musical journey which started in the spiritual Southern sounds of blues, soul and classic boogie woogie, continues through his recent CD's and his soulful live shows. Dave has headlined festivals in front of 10,000 people in Europe and has performed in more intimate gatherings at private and corporate events. Dave was also a conductor for the Broadway production of Smokey Joe's Café and sings and plays on the Grammy Award winning soundtrack album. The Dave Keyes Band was the house band for the nationally syndicated TV morning variety show "The Ainsley Harriott Show" seen on NBC. His versatility stretches from R&R to blues, soul, jazz and country western. The band size can range from solo to 12 pieces depending on the type of event.
