Description
An eclectic bluegrass band performing a variety of covers and original tunes. Mama Tried is a new band comprised of seasoned professional players representing the cream of the crop of Hudson Valley Bluegrass music. We offer the band in a variety of configurations to suit your needs and budget, from a duo to a full-blown seven piece bluegrass orchestra. Aside from the core group of guitars, singers, banjo, fiddles and mandolin, we also work with a piano player from time to time which makes our sound just a little different from everyone else's. Feedback
- Mama Tried was great to work with before the event as well as during the event. We had great communication and they made every effort to accomodate our requests. Their music is fun and lively and contributed to the success of our outdoor garden fundraiser. They were a pleasure to work with. Thanks guys! -- Kim E, Katonah, NY, 5/18/2012
- The band arrived perfectly on time to get everything set up properly. Upon arrival, the band was sound checking within no time, and had all the guests very anxious for the party. The character of each individual band member was great, and the audience interaction was perfect. The song list was spectacular, and had everyone dancing from start to finish. All great instrumentalists, great vocalists, over the event was a total success, and Mama Tried was the perfect band for the bill. A+++++, would hire again, and would certainly recommend to anyone looking to book a progressive blue grass band with a lot of character, authenticity, and talent. THANK YOU!! -- Kevin S, Stephentown, NY, 7/30/2011
- We hired Mama Tried for our June 2010 wedding. They did an acoustic set for the ceremony out by a lake and a plugged in jam for part of our reception. These band members are not only amazing performers, but also good-natured people! Mama Tried learned two songs for us and put their own bluegrass spin on them. They were flexible with everything and even invited us up to sing with them during their last song! I have pics of the band with whole-hearted smiles during the nuptials too. I can't say enough positive things about this group. Thank you guys so much for everything. Anyone reading this should not hesitate to hire this wonderful band of talented, awesome people. -- Elyse M, Bear Mountain, NY, 6/19/2010
- The music was great and well received by party attendees. Excellent value! -- Jennifer O, New Paltz, NY, 6/18/2010
- Mama Tried was a perfect fit for our wedding. They played from the ceremony through until the last hour and a half when a DJ took over. Their music during the ceremony made it extra special. They learned and played the song for our first dance. All of the guests enjoyed the music with lots of dancing going on. They were excellent in every way! -- Kim L, Derby, CT, 11/5/2011
