Wedding ReceptionReviewed on April 30, 2012From Hickory, NC

I highly recommend SUMMIT Strings. Very reliable, very professional. They arrived and set up quickly, met with the caterer to go over details and then did what they do best, play!!! I had a formal evening wedding and the violin and cello were the perfect touch at my reception. They were wonderful! Everyone commented on their beautiful sound and how they perfected the night. Thanks Summit Strings for making my evening so beautiful!

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on October 17, 2011From Greensboro, NC

Summit Strings performed at our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour outside this October, and they did a fabulous job. Working with them prior to the actual event was a very easy and smooth process - they responded to all inquiries in a timely manner and handled all music requests perfectly. All of our guests at our wedding thought they were a fantastic addition to our wedding celebrations, and I'd highly recommend them again. Thank you Summit Strings for helping make our day unforgettable!

Church ServiceReviewed on December 28, 2010From Matthews, NC

We hired String Hysteria for a large production with over 3000 people in attendance. We gave them original string arrangements to accompany a rock band. They were mic'd and made to use in-ear monitors and took it all in stride. They nailed the arrangements. They showed up early, were prepared, and exuded professionalism. We look forward to hiring String Hysteria again.

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on July 2, 2011From Boone, NC

Summit Strings was wonderful during my wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. They were prompt and were also flexible on where to set up during the cocktail hour. I only wish that I was able to hear more of what they played, being the bride made it difficult to sit and listen to their music. But I had many guests at the wedding comment on their selection of music during the cocktail hour. They were impressed with their ability to play both classical and current "pop" music. We are very glad to have chosen Summit Strings as part of our special day. Thanks for helping to make our ceremony and cocktail hour beautiful!!

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on June 14, 2010From Lenoir, NC

Our only regret is when they ceased playing as we were the bride and groom and did not get to hear as much as we would have preferred. Our guests loved them for 30 minutes before we began our ceremony.

They were in constant contact about the arrangements. We had some last minute changes due to weather, but they accomodated us. Good comments came from the crowd.

Birthday Party (Adult)Reviewed on July 27, 2010From Charlotte, NC

My experience with String Hysteria was fine. They were professional and dressed nicely. The performance was nice however the breaks between songs were a big long and uncomfortable. I will hire them in the future for similar events.

:

This was one of the longest gigs we have every been asked to play..3hrs. These folks haggled over the price until we gave them a basement-bargain deal for that length of time. The gig was a birthday party for an 80 year old Matriarch of a big family. The only time we had long breaks between songs was when we were ASKED [by the children of the birthday girl] to pause so announcements could be make, introductions given, and old stories of and about the family could be told. The lady who hired us (one of the granddaughters)didn't even stay the entire time in the room we were playing in. I don't believe "Christina L" knew we were being ASKED to pause ??????????????? We

String Hysteria was great. They were easy to work with, showed up on time, sounded great and even brought Santa hats to our Christmas party. I will use the again if given the opportunity.

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on November 5, 2011From Greenville, SC

SUMMIT Strings was a huge disappointment for us. We found them very difficult to contact; often it took 2-3 emails before we had a response. They also canceled on us NINE days before our ceremony stating that they had a conference to attend with work. We were shocked by the lack of professionalism they showed at this time. Instead of giving us the courtesy of a phone call, they just emailed. Until they decide to place a higher importance on their strings performances, we don't feel that they would be a valuable addition to have play at any event. There are too many unknowns/unanswered questions with this group that it causes great stress to deal with them.

:

The outcome of this event was very unfortunate. As Jessica said above, I had to cancel nine day prior to the event. I had a situation with my day job (a College Math Instructor) that arose I had to attend to. For the first time since we have been working on Gig Masters, I had to put "REAL Life " ahead of music. The fault here is NOT the bands ( the ensemble and its members) but mine alone for having to cancel. The negative sentiments above is solely deserved to me ,Steve Holman (and me alone) ,and in no way reflects the musicianship and professionalism of the band. We never gave a performance here and that was the problem. This will NOT happen again!

Wedding Cocktail HourReviewed on May 23, 2012From Hot Springs, NC

Steve from Summit Strings called an hour before my wedding to say they were canceling! I booked them 6 months in advance & prepaid the full bill per Steve's request, and he said they went to the wrong venue & wouldn't make it for my wedding. We also paid a composer to transcribe 2 songs into sheet music for his trio, so not only did we not have the music for our ceremony, we are out that money ($300). And, after Steve promised that he would personally perform our wedding, he called 2 days before & said he couldn't make it & would send other musicians. Plus, he asked us to buy his group dinner, which was outside our original agreement, so we're out that money too!

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on August 9, 2012From Hendersonville, NC

The group was amazing! My ceremony site was in a really confusing location in the middle of nowhere and only my family members were available to greet them upon arrival and get them situated, and yet they had no problem at all with any of that. They were extremely good about working with me on even the smallest details and were completely professional and very talented. Booking them for the wedding was a very fortunate decision and one that I would highly advice for other special events.
