Mixt Company is a five piece bluegrass band with two rhythm guitars, banjo, mandolin, and upright bass. We feature harmony singing in trio style with our two female singers doing most of the lead singing. Our material ranges from traditional Monroe-style bluegrass to country songs, rock genre songs, and original material, done in our own bluegrass style. Virginia Lee is the on-stage spokesperson, playing rhythm guitar and sharing lead and harmony vocals. She has been performing most of her life, as her Daddy raised her and five sisters as a performing bluegrass band in the Southwestern Virginia area. Her daughter, Letitia Jolene, also plays rhythm guitar (and somletimes bass fiddle) and shares lead and harmony vocals. She has been performing since early youth. Dave (DC) Blood plays mandolin and sings harmony vocals. He has been in the bluegrass business for almost fifty years now. Gary Wood ils the band's newest member (more than a year now), and plays five-sstring banjo, and sings. Gary has been performing most of his life. David "Dawghaus" Knight plays upright bass and sings bass vocals. A master of his instrument, he provides a solid and interesting, not-so-typical bedrock for the rest of the band. David comes to bluegrass from a jazz background.
