About
In Full Swing is a complete big band – 16 pieces, plus optional vocalist(s) – that enjoys playing at a variety of functions. We are a swinging big band based in Columbus, Ohio. We have been serving the central Ohio area since 2004.We have fantastic soloists, and optional vocalist(s)who can sing with the band that are very good. We keep good time for dancers and swing well and have a tight ensemble. In my opinion, we are one of the best big bands in the region. Most of our members have been playing big band music for many years. We specialize in the big band sounds of the 30's and 40's, we also have a variety of dance rhythms, swing charts and more modern tunes. We also have ample music for ballroom dances. When listening to our samples please remember everything was recorded LIVE and that we used only one mic set in front of the band. We sound more dynamic in person! We hope to get a professional recording live at a concert within the next year or so.
We are reasonably priced and pride ourselves on working with the people who hire us to provide the music they want. If there are songs not in our repertoire that you want for your occasion, we can play recordings of them through our sound system during breaks. It is also possible to have our announcer M.C. your event, if you like. We also have a smaller group (6 people) that can play for those more intimate settings where a big band would be too large for the room.
