Shimmy Express Belly Dancers

The Shimmy Express is a dynamic, professional, belly dance duo comprised of the talented Sufiya and Farasha, who are not only available for performances, but also for belly dance lessons as well. They can perform both as a duo, and individually.

Sufiya was a featured performer for many years in Honolulu, Hawaii restaurants including the Mad Greek Restaurant, the Marrakech Restaurant, and the Greek Island Taverna, as well a dedicated belly dance instructor to many students on the island. After relocating to Vermont and later Massachusetts, Sufiya continued performing at private parties and various events, as well as appearing at area restaurants such as the Athenian Corner in Lowell, MA. Sufiya is also a founding member of the Hula Aloha Dancers, a long-established Boston area Polynesian dance performance group (please see our reviews on this site), and a certified Zumba fitness instructor as well.

Farasha has more recently added belly dancing to her impressive dance portfolio. She has been a life-long dancer, initially trained in ballet, tap, and jazz and, along with Sufiya, a founding member and 10-year performer in the Hula Aloha Dancers.

Shimmy Express dancers are available for shows ranging from a 5 to 10-minute solo "bellygram" to a full, one-hour show with both dancers.

• Sufiya was AMAZING!! Besides the fact that my body at 33 paled in comparison and she has now forced me to go to the gym- she was GREAT.
