Kinikia

Kinikia is a belly dancer in the Washington DC, Virginia and Maryland areas. She has performed belly dance for corporate events, birthdays, weddings and other special occasions. Her repertoire includes traditional forms such as the soft and graceful Egyptian cabaret, strong and powerful Turkish styling, other folkloric Arabic forms such as zagat-finger cymbals, Raks Assaya-cane dance, sword dance, floorwork as well as modern infused styles of American veil dance, Tribal Fusion. She is a fire dancer that incorporates her Chinese fan dance style into the fire fan dance. Other fire dance apparatus includes fire poi, the fire belt, fire knife and candles. She is the director of a world arts dance company called DC Hippodrome Variety Show Ent., LLC and is the group's lead choreographer as well as dancer. Her shows can incorporate fun audience participation as well as additional dancers from her company.

"I hired DC Hippodrome at the very last minute after I receiving a last minute cancellation from another dancer. I was hosting a large, nighttime event featuring artists and variety entertainment.
Dc Hippodrome got back to me immediately and agreed to the gig which was taking place in an hour. They arrived on time and were extremely professional, pleasant and flexible. This was a busy event with a lot of different things going on and everything was taken in stride.

• Kinikia was wonderful! She performed for my fathers 80th Birthday and did an outstanding job, both in terms of providing a great show and also in accommodating our special request to perform a dance in a grass skirt (Tahitian) that was meaningful to my dad. She was great in involving the audience. And she has a great sense of humor and picked up on what we were trying to accomplish and fit right in. She performed for a family-oriented group.
