Ankara Rose - World Dance Artist

Fiery and Passionate; Spirited yet Graceful - Ankara Rose is a professional dance artist whose passion, musicality, and diverse training have shaped her original and eclectic style into one uniquely her own. A top-notch performer, she performs full-time as a soloist and tours on occasion with top Celtic/World music acts. Audiences have often commented on the energy she brings to the dance, her musicality, and fiery spirit.

Besides Middle Eastern (Bellydance), Ankara Rose works professionally performing Irish Step and Scottish Highland, and on occasion Hip Hop. She is known for her signature stylization she co-created: "Celtic Fusion Bellydance": a unique and dynamic fusion of Irish Step, Scottish Highland, and Middle Eastern Dance. She is one of the world's first to perform Celtic Fusion Bellydance professionally, and has done so since 2005. This energetic and dynamic performer has taught workshops, choreographed, and performed at various venues throughout the United States and Canada - from outdoor festivals to indoor theatrical productions; in film and live music concerts.

It is her goal to share her passion and joy of dance with the world; whether it's in a staged theatrical production, music video, live music concert... or at your very own event!

She has performed at many private functions throughout her career and will work with you to ensure its success.

BELLYDANCE: Ankara Rose performs Turkish, Egyptian, Arabic and American Oriental. Show includes a gorgeous traditional bellydance costume and appropriate music. Props and specialties often include: Veil and Double Veil, Sword, Zills (Finger cymbals), Floorwork, Drum solo, and audience participation if you wish!

IRISH STEP/CELTIC SHOW: Can perform Soft Shoe and Hard shoe (Hard shoe must have appropriate dance surface at your venue) to traditional reel and jig tunes or more modern-edge Celtic rock. Dancing can reflect the music from either traditional steps to innovative and cutting-edge contemporary choreography *Please note: Ankara Rose does NOT perform in a fake wig and for costume prefers modern contemporary styles…or Highland kilt with a modern-day hip twist. ;0)

CELTIC BELLYDANCE FUSION: Irish Step, Scottish Highland, and Bellydance all fused into one dance! Music reflects the fusion and dancing can include any of the specialties from the above categories. *Please note: Unless split into more than one performance with time for costume change, Celtic Fusion shows typically do NOT include the glamorous heavily-beaded bellydance costume; as they are not appropriate to Celtic dance in!

**Typical private function shows run from 15-30 minutes and range in price. Ankara Rose is available for longer events as well, and can be booked for a flat hourly rate depending on type of event. She can also do split performances throughout the evening in one particular dance style or a combination of the above. Additional Travel/lodging fees will apply when necessary.

**Ankara Rose is also available to teach dance lessons in-conjunction with her performances. (Bellydance is perfect for Bachelorette/Ladies only events!) Please inquire for further details.

• We had an 80th birthday party for my husband and Ankara Rose was to be his surprise! He was surprised and delighted with Ankara Rose as was about 40 invited guests. Ankara Rose was very professional, very talented and danced before an audience of ages from 4 to 87.
