FOUR GOT TO SHAVE

Singing as an organized and registered quartet since October 2002, these guys have more than their facial hair in common. Barbershop harmony is a love shared by all, along with a desire to share those ringing chords with anyone. All four are members and past presidents of the Kalamazoo Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society (the Kalamazoo Barbershop Chorus).

Providing family entertainment for over six years, Four Got to Shave provides a unique blend of music and comedy that appeals to audiences of all ages. Comfortable with venues of all shapes and sizes, Four Got to Shave has performed for small private gatherings in homes, schools, churches, nursing homes and retirement centers, etc. as well as large public concerts of over 400 at community celebrations, car shows, carnivals, festivals, company outings, etc.

A primarily classic barbershop group, Four Got to Shave's repertoire also includes gospel, dixieland, doo-wop, and even a little pop! From the first chord to the last, Four Got to Shave's caring and professional approach to entertainment will help to ensure the success of your party or function.

Singing Tenor is Lee Derksen. Lee has been singing Barbershop for 15 years and is the assistant director for the Kalamazoo Barbershop Chorus. His love of performing doesn't end there, he is also an accomplished Gospel Saw player entertaining audiences of all ages.

Singing Bass is Al Grieser and with 29 years in Barbershop he has the added distinction of being the most 'seasoned' member of the group. Al brings a wisdom and sometimes offbeat sense of humor to the stage lifting the group as well as the audience as he anchors the harmonies with a solid foundation for the others to build on.

The Baritone is Patrick Hall. Patrick has been singing Barbershop for about 7 years and is the quartet's youngest member (he is also the least hairy). Patrick was first introduced to barbershop as a child by his father who would drag him to practices and 'force' him to sing tags until way past his bedtime.

David Dolph, the Lead and the main contact for the group, has been singing with the Kalamazoo Barbershop Chorus and in various quartets for more than 21 years. David's beautiful voice, bright eyes and infectious smile make him the perfect story teller for the group.

• We had a Patriotic Themed Surprise 90th Birthday party for my father-in-law,and 4Got2Shave was great! They sang songs that I requested and also learned a new song (God Bless the U.S.A. by Lee Greenwood)just for our event and it sounded great. They received a standing ovation for it. They were professional, down to earth and just great men. I would highly recommend them to anyone and all of our guest that I spoke with really enjoyed them!
