Description
The versatile 10-piece Bob Gray Orchestra plays both the big band "swing sound" (including waltzes, cha chas, and rhumbas) and rock with vocals. The band consists of two trumpets, three trombones, one alto sax, keyboard, guitar, electric bass, and drums. Our library is specially written so that the six horns and rhythm can sound very close to that of a big band. We have played many dances and always fill the dance floor with eager dancers.
Here is what our satisfied clients are saying about our performances.
Re:Dayton Philharmonic Gala at the Schuster Center in Dayton:
Your band put on a great show and I've heard nothing but 100% rave reviews from patrons who attended the event. They loved what they heard and loved dancing to your performance. You had a great selection of tunes in a wide range of musical styles that got people up and onto the dance floor, and every number was delivered just-right, even to the back-up vocal harmonies on "My Girl"!
I know everyone at the DPO looks forward to making "Dance to the Music" an annual event, and to having the Bob Gray Orchestra as our permanent "house band".

Re:Springfield Symphony Fundraiser at Kuss Auditorium:
I don't know if anyone has "officially" said anything to you or any of the band members about your gig with us last Saturday, but we had dozens of positive comments about the band! Everybody loved the music. Much appreciated was the diversity of musical styles, the inclusion of some rock/pop stuff, and the great musicianship. Thanks very much to you and all the guys!
You & your band are the best!!! Thank you for the great time!
Re: Wedding Reception at Piqua Country Club:
Tom,
As you could tell, the band was a great hit...it's amazing how few people get to hear a live horn band anymore, and a very good one helps a lot also...we've had lots of compliments about the band, so hopefully there will be a reference or two come out of it.
Great job, thanks again
Re: Wedding Reception at Roberts Centre in Wilmington:
Here is what the bride wrote to the booker of the event:
Please share this with the rest of the band members. Mike and I wanted to thank the orchestra for making our wedding reception a memorable one. We have received many compliments from our guests about how great the music was and we feel the same way. Also, you did a fabulous job with "Always". Thanks again for pulling that arrangement together so quickly...it was beautiful.
Re: Wedding Reception Follow Up at the Xenia Legacy Center:
Here is what the bride wrote to the booker of the event:
I just wanted to let you know that Dave & I were very impressed with the Bob Gray Orchestra!! We are so happy that we selected them as the band to play at our wedding. Many of our guests have shared that they enjoyed the music. In fact, all of us ended up staying later than we thought because we were having such a good time. Dave & I were also impressed with the service and help that you and the band provided us prior to the wedding. Thanks so much for your professionalism and talent. We have and will continue to recommend the band to others. Thanks for making our day great!
Re: Wedding Reception Follow Up at the Courtyard by Marriott in Springfield:
I think what we enjoyed so much about the band was the great music that was played ... everybody was dancing. I feel like you really take your chances with a DJ. I've been to too many wedding receptions where the little kids and older aunts and uncles and grandparents are sitting there watching the "twenty somethings" dance to really bad "bar" music. A wedding reception isn't the place for that. I also thought you guys did a great job keeping everything moving by announcing everything. A lot of times people miss things because they didn't know what was taking place when. We've heard from so many of our guests how much they enjoyed our reception and the band was the biggest part of that. Please feel free to contact Nick or myself for a reference anytime, we've already mentioned you to a couple of folks in our area. Thank you again for making our reception so enjoyable for us and our guests!
Re: Wedding Reception Follow Up at the Graystone Winery in Columbus:
Everyone loved the band . I feel that the music was the highlight of the whole party.
Some comments from a New Years Eve dinner/dance at the Courtyard By Marriott in Springfield:

"Loved the Band"
"We liked the band very much-very well done"
"We liked the band-if they come back next year, so will we and bring friends with us"

Feedback
- We are very pleased with our choice to use the Bob Gray Orchestra. We have received several compliments regarding the band. They played the perfect kind of music for our event. Tom Billings was great with communication prior to the event, and everything went extremely smoothly. I could not have asked for more at our wedding. -- Suesan S, Cincinnati, OH, 3/3/2012
