My name is Davy the bagpiper. I am an accomplished performer both as a soloist and a pipes and drums band member for 4 different bands. I am a firefighter, which has given me the opportunity to play bagpipes in honor guard performances, a tradition richly kept by many fire departments. I currently play bagpipes with the OCFA Pipes and Drums band, the Inland Empire Pipes and Drums band and the Dark Isle pipers. I also play with the LA Scots Grade 4 band. Myself and the LA Scots recently won 1st place in the Grade 4 division at the Scottish Festival at the Queen Mary, 2013. I have a very wide selection of tunes in my repertoir including hymns, traditional marches, pub party tunes, highland dance tunes, Christmas tunes, funeral tunes, wedding tunes and everything in between.

I am a devoted bagpiping performer and lifelong student of the art and technique of the instrument. Many bagpipers tend to try and learn a handful of popular tunes and play them mediocrely for more money than they are worth. I have made it a commitment to perfect the instrument. I also am NOT a stiff. I'm young, energetic, flexible and self aware. I know what my audience needs to hear, how to entertain and most importantly, know how to sound good. I am also very familiar with more somber gatherings and can contribute a regal, respectful, beautiful addition when the moment calls for it.

The Dark Isle Pipe Band is also for hire!!!! I am a proud member of a pipe band comprised of the 3 of the most talented FEMALE bagpipers in California. Any event is enhanced exponentially when more pipers and drums are added. Several pipers playing together, especially the pipers in my group, create a gorgeous compliment complete with harmonies. I work very close with my other performers and all the same intensity in my playing can be said for my band members. In short, The Dark Isle Pipe Band will give you a product that you cannot find anywhere else!!!

I take pride in my work and always strive to deliver a perfect performance to my clients. I have a good sense of the needs of whatever gathering I am performing at. I usually suggest what I feel is best in respect to what tunes, how many tunes, and when these tunes should be played. I will stress that I am flexible and will do whatever you would like me to do.
