DESCRIPTION:
My name is Benjamin Scott Johnston. I have been playing highland bagpipes since 1997. I have studied under some the finest bagpipe players in the world. I have played at a very high level as a solo and band player. More specifically, I have played with the top pipe band in the United States, The Los Angeles Scots Pipe Band, who recently finished eleventh in The World Pipe Band Championships in Scotland. I currently teach and play with The Bushmills Irish Pipers Band of San Francisco. I have a knack for getting positive results out of other bagpipers and their instruments.
I currently reside in San Francisco and I am available for weddings, funerals, memorial services, commencements, and any and all occasions. I have played for Sean Connery, Los Lobos, Taylor Made Golf, and many promotional gigs for Guinness and Bushmills Irish Whiskey. In addition, I play traditional and contemporary music from Scotland, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, and most of the Brittish Isles. I have also composed music for pipe bands and solo musicians. When I am booked for an event, I wear the full attire of formal wear including kilt and dress jacket.
