Description
Captain MacLeod (US Army, Infantry, Vietnam 1966-1969) has played the Great Highland Bagpipes since 1999. He has performed for many weddings, funerals, birthdays, local block parties, whisky tastings, golf tournaments, airport welcomings, and a fabulous Bar Mitzvah.
Most of Captain MacLeod's business comes from referrals. He is especially known for his good natured willingness to help as you plan your event, for his professional, Scottish presence, and for the quality of his performance. He shows up early, stays until it is appropriate for him to leave, and is well remembered thereafter.
Captain MacLeod has a full range of Highland dress - civilian and military - and is known for the quality of his presentation. "The piper must be seen and heard, but must skillfully avoid taking attention from the presence of the bride, or from the celebrants. It's not about the piper, it's about YOU, the bride and groom, the celebrant, the bereaved, the soldier or marine coming home at the airport... The piper must fit gracefully into your event, not overshadowing the event itself. The piper must foremost be a gentleman."
Please note: because of my busy schedule, I will not bid on gigs more than 60 days in advance. This is still plenty of time to hire a bagpiper for weddings, especially, and considering my totally supportive response, willingness to help, participate in rehearsal, etc. On the other hand, I often don't need more than a couple days advanced notice, so if you're in some kind of bind, give me a try. Thanks.
And thank you for your interest, and Scotland Forever!

Feedback
- Captain MacLeod was a delight. He was accommodating, pleasant, timely, and very good with the kindergarten class he came to play for. Everyone enjoyed him immensely. Go Scotland! -- Nancy F, Redlands, CA, 11/30/2011
- Captain was very professional and extremely accomadating. He performed at my grandmothers memorial service and did an amazing job. He allowed us to focus on everything else while he took care of the music. -- Marlena F, Palm Springs, CA, 1/5/2012
- Everyone loved him...everyone is still talking about him!!!!!! -- Sandy F, San Dimas, CA, 3/17/2012
