The Catskill Quartet String Quartet from Kingston, NY

The members of the Catskill Quartet (formerly the Woodstock and Baldwin Quartet) have been providing exquisite music for weddings, movie soundtracks, studio recordings, TV ads and documentaries for more than 25 years. In addition to our credits as professional symphony musicians throughout the Hudson Valley we have been featured in many film scores such as The Road to Wellville with Anthony Hopkins, The Maze and the more recent Tribeca release Steep. We have had the honor of playing weddings for members of Cirque De Soleil, ESPN broadcasters and even the origin "Phantom" himself. Most recently our members have been performing with the orchestras for the Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Queen Tribute bands. We consider it our job to assist you with the music selection process. Fifteen minutes prior to the ceremony we begin with beautiful prelude music while your guests are being seated. (We're often told that many guests are moved to tears at this time!) When cued, we begin the processional music for the parents, bridal party and bride. During the ceremony there are many opportunities for music: communion, walking around the chuppah, lighting of candles, offertory etc. Lastly, the recessional music continues until the guests have moved on to the reception. Often we are contracted for the second hour to provide music for the cocktail portion of the reception. Unlike many other quartets, we perform a wide variety of styles: rags, 30s-40s jazz, classics, Broadway, pop, tangos and even rock when requested. In addition to the touch of class that live string music provides, we like to offer our unique lively repertoire as well. After all, this is all about life!
