DESCRIPTION:
Composed of sixteen intelligent, personable, and talented undergraduate women from across the country, The New Blue has been charming audiences for over thirty-five years as Yale's oldest women's a cappella group. Founded when Yale first admitted women in 1969, New Blue has maintained its reputation as one of the finest collegiate singing groups in the nation, receiving the Contemporary A Cappella Society’s award for Best Female Collegiate Album. New Blue offers a diverse selection of sophisticated and spirited music arranged entirely by past and present group members. Sung in 4 to 8-part harmony, songs range from traditional favorites of the past to award-winning renditions of current popular artists. With a repertoire as large as it is eclectic, New Blue is able to tailor performances to ensure an unforgettable occasion. Whether singing for an intimate black-tie affair or sharing their music with children, the women of New Blue consistently captivate audiences with a rich sound and an inspiring presence. During the academic year, New Blue performs throughout the Northeast for country clubs, private parties, schools, resorts, and other special events. The group also goes on tour twice a year, hitting such destinations as Miami, Seattle, Vancouver, and Greece. Recent concerts on tour include entertaining at Universal Studios Florida, singing at The Empire State Building, and performing as the opening act for Bill Cosby. Check our website for upcoming tour locations.
