DESCRIPTION:
For nearly 34 years, Billy & Paula Speer have been on many extensive travels ministering in concerts, banquets, Bible conferences, colleges, rallies, revivals,Patriotic events, and political rallies through out the United States, Canada, and several European countries. They relate to the needs of the average person, having experienced some ups and downs in their own lives. Now living in the beautiful Orlando, Florida area, where they are faithful members of First Baptist Church of Orlando, pastored by David Uth, Billy and Paula's desire and purpose of ministy is to Exalt the Savior, Evangelize the Lost Sinner, and Encourage the Saints, to compliment the local church in equipping saints for the work of the ministry through the preaching of His Word and Song evangelism. Through the years, they have had several opportunities to serve the Lord in many areas: Youth Pastor in Washington DC area for three years. Featured soloist for Word of Life Ministries, founded by Jack Wyrtzen & Harry Bollback Guest on many radio programs TV appearances Guest soloists in political rallies for two former presidents Hosted "Faith in Action" a popular radio program in the Northeast, Founded by Evangelist Wendell Calder Featured soloists on Canada's National Bible hour for Global Outreach Mission Billy’s personality and easy singing style give him an instant rapport with all ages. Now internationally known gospel singers and recording artists, with numerous recording projects to their credit, their son, BJ Speer, has followed in his father's footsteps singing gospel music with two recent recordings of his own, also has a rare combination of wit, humor, and Christian zest for life. Billy became a Christian June 27th of 1969. Upon finishing high school in 1970, Billy went to the Word of Life Bible Institute, and completed his college education at Clearwater Christian College, Faith Way Baptist College, and Freedom University & Seminary, and at the same time gained a musical background with The Life Action Singers and Word of Life Ministries. In 1974, Billy married Paula, whom he met at the Word of Life Bible Institute in NY, and together, they began an itinerary ministry of music evangelism through concerts, special music, evangelistic meetings, and other special events through the years. In the spring of 1979, Billy had the opportunity to serve as a Youth Pastor at Faith Bible Church, in Sterling, VA. Billy had the opportunity to take many of the young people on a mission trip to Portugal and Sang before hundreds of troops at a NATO Rally. Billy grew up with a strong Patriotic foundation since his mom was a Wave and his dad was a Lt Commander in the Navy, he loves America, and has had the opportunity to represent our country in song at several political rallies and He sang before thousands at the Omni Convention Center in Atlanta, GA, for President Reagan and Gerald Ford at the Super Dome in New Orleans, LA.
