Today’s guest is Heather Dalton from Chickabug, a creative and fun shop that makes party planning easier with fabulous ideas and custom printables. She stopped by to share an adorable party with us that features some of her fabulous printables. Here’s Heather’s recap of this super cute (and unique) party: At this Under the Sea party, the starfish and netting decorations on the sweets table was just the first hint of what was to come!

Mom Heather added some real ocean magic to her son's 4th birthday party by bringing in real live sea creatures for the children to see (and even touch!).

Heather hired Rangers on the Run to put on an Under the Sea show, including live sea animals and a variety of marine artifacts and shells. The educators taught the kids about each creature and their marine habitat. The children - and parents - were fascinated!

Heather said, “They brought all sorts of sea creatures and kept 15 kids and their parents occupied for the best part of two hours!”

Hiring animals for parties (like live sea creatures), is a great way to provide fun, interactive entertainment that can also tie into your party theme. When it was time to eat, party guests enjoyed cupcakes, treat cones full of popcorn, and a variety of cookies and candy. Heather also made jelly boats by floating gummy fruit slice "boats" on top of blue and green Jello "water.

The homemade birthday cake was covered in sea green icing and decorated with candy sea creatures like turtles and starfish.

At the end of the party, each guest took home a beautiful iced gingerbread cookie.
