I know, I know, the royal wedding is old news. We're all supposed to move on and talk about um, Hugh Hefner? I don't know about you, but I don't want to and this made me happy. Remember how William and Kate followed a popular wedding trend and "registered" for charitable donations instead of wedding gifts? It turns out that their wedding fund raised $1.6 million!

Now, all this money didn't just come from their registering, some of it also came from "official" wedding memorabilia that they sold. Ordinary couples can't really count on being able to raise quite that much money for their favorite charities, but if you're looking for some ideas on how to use your wedding to help others check out sites like The I Do Foundation and The Charity Wedding for ideas.

Will you be registering for a charity? Let us know in the comments.
