Now that last week’s wedding-of-the-decade is behind us, we can bring our focus back to American royalty, celebrities. I always think of spring as wedding season. It turns out there's a good reason for this, back in the 1950’s and 60’s when the population was surging and women were increasingly holding jobs, June became a popular wedding month so teachers (then seen as a job for women) could enjoy a honeymoon. Sorry, I digress.

Of course there are a lot of places to pick up wedding news, so we’ll be focusing on the entertainment portion of things. And it just so happens that a lot of songbirds are tying—or retying—the knot lately.

Leann Rimes just took the plunge with some guy she met on set of a Lifetime Movie. On the morning of their wedding, she gave him a pre-loaded iPod with a song she wrote and sang for him. Show off.

If you’re not vocally inclined like Leann, consider this tip: come up with a song you could join in on, in some small way like introducing it, joining the backup singers or even picking up non-instrumental-to-the-song instrument (if you don’t play). Of course, if none of that appeals to you, consider just asking your band or DJ to work in “How Do I Live (Without You)” sometime between dinner and dessert.

Don't forget, GigMasters is here to help you book a country singer, or any wedding entertainment.
