Today’s guest is our friend Dawn from Not Just A Mommy- a fabulous entertaining, crafts and party design blog. When Dawn told us about a spring inspired girls’ night party she was concocting, we knew we had to get all the details. So sit back, relax and check out Dawn’s great spa party inspiration: Everyone says it; "We should get together more often."

So with spring finally here, what better way to shed the winter blues than to refresh yourself, and a few gal pals, with a luxurious spa party at home. Here are a few ideas to inspire you...

I love this serene table setting in blue, with fragrant orchids and soft candlelight shown in a fabulous party book - In Style Parties. Don't be a slave to the stove or the kitchen; store-bought treats can be placed on pretty platters. Have delicious creamy or zesty dips for vegetables and whipped yogurt or caramel dips for the fruit.

Serve non-alcoholic drinks – perhaps a tray of fruit smoothies served in shot glasses, like these pretty strawberry ones from Style Me Pretty. These perfume bottles from Setting The Mood really make the perfect drink glasses. Check your local craft store for similar shaped ones.

Set up a goody bar of favors, such as sample size cleansers, bath beads, and nail files. A few years ago I put together a Spa Party with a 'dessert table' full of all kinds of spa goodies the girls used that evening, from scrub gloves to homemade soap. A simple silicone mold and a soap kit from your local craft store is a fun way to make soaps for everyone without having to spend a lot on purchasing individual ones. Just wrap each bar of soap in a clear cellophane wrap and it will look like you scored them from a specialty bath store. Try to find a coupon for your local craft store before you go – it’s always good to save some money.

I purchased large bottles of mud masks and foot soak crystals and divided them among inexpensive plastic containers I found at the Dollar Store. It’s another great trick to get more bang for your buck. Visit your local beauty supply and drug stores for great deals on nail polish, separators and more! They are always trying to move those products to make room for seasonal items.

If you want to seriously pamper your guests, book a massage therapist for mini massages and a manicurist to shape their nails, or even a make-up consultant for fun.  Check out your local cosmetology school for referrals, you may be able to book their best students.

You can also book some entertainment, like a cellist or harpist to play calm, relaxing music while you get all pampered and pretty! Here's to planning a fabulous night in, one your guests won't soon forget.
