By now you've all seen it, the video of the "first lip-synched proposal." The groom to be is an actor and the proposal is no doubt a show stopper, but it's just one in a number of increasingly high profile and high stakes proposals.

The Knot has a list of great ideas for marriage proposals.

The Yes Girls are event planners who specialize in proposals (we loved this post they did for us about a great boy band proposal), and as you'd expect they have some great ideas for popping the question. But, I can't help noticing that a lot of their blog is actually dating advice aimed at women! Hmm, does that mean that maybe, the people most interested in interesting, romantic proposals are single women?

What do you think? Are over the top marriage proposals here to stay? Is it something you'd like or is it too much? Does it set single women up with unrealistic expectations? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
