Description
Roots country music, born of gin halls and juke joints! The Whiskeybelles, a Milwaukee, Wisconsin based female trio, combines Hank Williams passion, Carter family harmonies, with a little Hee Haw mixed in for good measure.
We mix original material and traditional covers, all done in a sparse, acoustic country- folk style (guitar, fiddle, & bass) with intricate vocal harmonies. We've been compared to Trio (Dolly Parton, Emmy Lou Harris & Linda Ronstadt), the Dixie Chicks and the Be Good Tanyas. The Whiskeybelles blend varied backgrounds of folk, classical and rock genres to make music all our own. With personalities as big as the Texan skyline, these ladies have a great time on stage, and love to share the fun with their audience, landing them the WAMI People's Choice Award along with a nomination for Best New Artist for 2010, a nomination for Best Americana Artist and People's Choice for 2011.
