DESCRIPTION:
Randy repertoire is wide and deep ranging from Bluegrass, Cajun, Celtic, Country, Folk, Irish and 70's Country/Rock. Randy also gigs with a duo, trio and four-piece band to fit occasions and budget.Randy has performed with Doc Watson on Merlefest Mainstage and as a member of bluegrass band Southern Exposure Randy has opened for Allison Krauss, Tim O'Brien, Mark O'Connor, Laurie Lewis, English Folk-diva June Tabor, ex-Fairport Conventioner Jerry Donahue, banjo-wiz Tony Furtado and most recently opened for the Kingston Trio. While living in Nashville, Randy recorded an independently produced country CD, in which six of ten songs were self-penned. There he worked with the late Roy Huskey Jr., Doug Jernigan and other Nashville notables. This will be Randy's 12th year at Merlefest and he will be performing at various stages during the 2008 4-day festival this April. For more personal information you can Google Randy Gambill.
