Description
In 2008, Scott Warren and his band Signal Hill Transmission beat out thousands of other artists to win $25,000 in cash and a development deal with ATO RECORDS, a label owned by Dave Matthews, in a contest sponsored by Clear Channel Radio Station, STAR 98.7 in Los Angeles, CA. The contest began online and ended with six finalists participating in a "battle of the bands" style finale at the Key Club on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood. When it was all said and done, the capacity crowd watched as a panel of music industry experts gave Scott and his band the victory.
More success followed with the release of their EP, 'Starting Gun' and some high profile Film/TV placements on the CW's '90210' and in the FOX ATOMIC film, 'THE ROCKER.' Actors DENNIS QUAID and SAMUEL L. JACKSON even included songs of the band on their iTunes CELEBRITY PLAYLISTS. From there, Warren quit his day job to focus on music exclusively, writing for film/tv projects that include NBC's 'HARRY'S LAW,' FX's 'THE LEAGUE,' and the NEW REGENCY film, 'FIREHOUSE DOG' to name a few. He also co-composed the opening logo music for MIRAMAX FILMS.
Along the way, he found time to write, record and release a solo record called 'QUICK FIX BANDAGE,' an album that would end up on several "BEST OF" lists for that year in the indie rock/americana blogosphere. The highly regarded webzine "TWANGVILLE" had this to say about Warren and the record:
"While singer/songwriters that look to tackle the softer sounds of rock, embrace the intimacy of folk and dance softly in the country sunshine are not exactly rare birds, it is all the more refreshing when one of those common creatures produces something that easily breaks away from their all-too crowded coffee house."
Warren is currently wrapping up his second solo effort (due out may, 2012) and is available for all types of bookings. With four full-length albums of original material and an endless supply of hit covers from artists like THE BEATLES, TOM PETTY, STEVE MILLER, JEFF BUCKLEY or ANY OTHER REQUEST, Scott can work with you to create the soundtrack to your perfect evening.
