Description
Quickly becoming one of Chicago's most sought after solo performers, Robert Cunningham's eclectic mix of vocal styles ranging from pop, 70's folk rock, broadway standards and opera make him one of the most versatile acts out there! Robert recently appeared on Broadway in the role of Paul in the 2007 Tony Award-winning production of Stephen Sondheim's Company. A seasoned professional, he is now back in Chicago and is extremely happy to be busy booking gigs as a solo guitarist and singer! Whether you need music for a wedding, a corporate event or an at home party, Rob will work work with you to provide the type of entertainment you are looking for. Here are some personal testimony's that give an idea of what people are saying about Rob:
"What a find! We hired Rob for our daughter's wedding ceremony as well as for the cocktail hour. He arrived early which was huge for us. Then he sang the "Ave Maria" so beautifully and effortlessly it was as if Pavarotti himself had come back to life. I turned to my husband (father of the bride-to-be) and he whispered with tears in his eyes, "Wow!" Of course it was a special day for us but it was truly moving performance indeed. His wife Maggie, an accomplished pianist, provided the piano accompaniment for the service. Her playing was outstanding (Especially during the Canon in D ). Afterwards, during the cocktail hour, Rob accompanied himself on guitar singing jazz standards from the Big band era ala. Frank Sinatra. He created a wonderful vibe and atmosphere for people to socialize. All in all, I was extremely happy with the quality and professionalism of this performer. I consider myself lucky to have found him."
-Jeanne Perry, Barrington Hills, Il.
"This guy rocks! We hired Rob for our annual outdoor Summer BBQ and he filled the night with so many of our favorite songs from the 60's and 70's. We are huge James Taylor fans and we enjoyed his renditions of those old JT classics. Also he livened the party up with Elvis and some other 50's stuff. We'd definitely want to book him again next summer."
-Aaron Ratkovitch, Hoffman Estates, il

Feedback
- Robert did a wonderful job at our 40th Birthday Party. He has a fantastic voice that one could listen to for hours and hours. We would happily recommend him. Terrific! -- Deirdre M, Lombard, IL, 10/21/2011
- Mr. Cunningham put on a wonderful performance! He created a relaxing comfortable environment for us to meet and greet our new neighbors by the variety of music he played and taking requests. Everyone in the neighborhood is still talking about our party and passing on the news about what an enjoyable time they had, such that those who were unable to make it, wished they had. -- Eileen O, New Lenox, IL, 9/4/2011
- He did a great Job! The party was a success. -- Rosa H, Long Grove, IL, 10/29/2011
- Rob was absolutely WONDERFUL! We had him for our Holiday company party and people constantly came up to me to say what a GREAT performer he is!
He played so many songs throughout the night that put smiles on all of our guest's faces.
I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone and plan to hire him again next year!
Thank you Rob!!! -- Stephanie Y, Chicago, IL, 12/2/2011

- Rob is EXCELLENT! His song selections were just perfect and he set a wonderful tone for the entire evening. In addition to his exceptional talent, he is true professional and a pleasure to work with. I received so many compliments on his performance and will definitely be using him again! -- Eileen P, Lincolnshire, IL, 4/14/2012
- Rob was an amazing performer. After listening to his MP3s clips online, I was as excited to hear him play as I was for the actual ceremony. And he did not disappoint. He was even better than expected. He even learned 4 new songs a week before our ceremony and they sounded amazing. Rob is a true treasure to have in Chicago and I would strongly recommend him to anyone in need of a guitarist/vocalist. He is also very easy to deal with and extremely humble. All night long everyone in our party was telling him how awesome he was. I want to have more parties just so I can hear Rob play. Also, if you book Rob, make sure he plays his version of Eddie Vedder’s Just Breathe. -- Daniel H, Chicago, IL, 4/20/2012
- Rob's promo cuts online are great, but he is SO much better in person. He has a beautiful voice and is a top-notch guitarist. A true professional, Rob should be considered for your next event. His playlist pleased a very particular crowd and got the joint jumpin'!
We are very, very happy with Rob's performance and hope to have him back again soon. Thanks to Rob and to Gigmasters for a great time!
-- Cindy M, Elgin, IL, 5/12/2012

I am looking at your calendar right now! -- Dawn R, Huntley, IL, 5/11/2012

- I had Rob play at my wife's 40th surprise birthday party. Rob showed up before our agreed time. He was very accommodating to the songs that I requested. Rob is very versatile in his repertoire of music prowess, from The Beatles to Irish ballards to Rock music played acoustically. Really I can't say enough, you would just have to hire him and find out for your self. Rob thanks again my family and my wife's family complimented me on my choice for guitarist/singer you really did a GREAT job. THANKS, Neil -- Neil S, Indian Head Park, IL, 5/21/2011
