Jesse Macleod

Drawing inspiration from the soulful, earnest croons of Amos Lee and the vulnerable, honest confessions of Ben Harper, Jesse MacLeod has developed a voice heavily influenced by the contemporary singer/songwriters of today. Yet he still pays homage to the folk artists of previous generations. As a child he remembers falling asleep to the sound of his old man playing guitar in the living room. The voices and guitar licks from legends such as Muddy Waters, Son House and Pee Wee Crayton are very familiar to him. Being the son of bluesman Doug MacLeod, Jesse can proudly say the Blues is large part of who he is.

Jesse has had the honor of receiving the award of Best Performer in the Westcoast Songwriters February 2009 Songwriter Competition in Hollywood and was a Top Three Male Finalist in the 2009 So Cal Music Live Competition. He released his first commercial recording, the "In Between Homes EP" in early 2010 with the help of producer, musician, engineer Michael Starr.

Jesse is also known for his vast list of cover songs ranging anywhere from classic rock (Creedence Clearwater Revival, Eagles) to modern rock (Oasis, John Mayer, Pearl Jam) to Oldies (Johnny Cash, Van Morrison, James Taylor) to New Age Top 40 (Adele, Drake). Any song can be learned and performed at your special event on short notice.

• We booked Jesse fairly last minute to play guitar for our ceremony. He was extremely accommodating, he knew or learned all of the songs we requested, and he even suggested other great songs to add to our playlist. He even rearranged his schedule to come to our rehearsal. Jesse was always quick to respond, showed up early to the rehearsal and ceremony, was completely professional, and is a great musician! • Proposed to my girlfriend on February 23, 2012 on the Santa Monica Pier and had Jesse playing our song in the background. It was a complete surprise for her and there were a lot of details that Jesse helped me with since I am not from the area. Very easy to communicate with, e-mails were responded to quickly and he showed up early. Acoustic guitar and voice were spot on. • We hired Jesse two weeks before our wedding and first time ever using Gigmasters. Jesse was amazing!! Quick to get back to us. Asked if we had any special songs he could learn, we had two. We had our wedding in a remote location and we didn't have to worry about anything, Jesse was prepared. He fit in with all of our guests and everyone thought he was an old friend we had known for years. His voice and music was amazing!! We had lots of musicians at our wedding and everyone thought he sounded great and was very talented. Can't wait to plan another event to have Jesse come and play for us.
