Sheldon Grove Warblers Acoustic Duo from Saint Paul, MN

The Sheldon Grove Warblers are the husband/wife folk duo of John Goolsby on acoustic guitar and vocals and Stacey Trelfa on flute and vocals. Their music – ranging from toe-tapping to tear-jerking – takes inspiration from a deep fount of sources, from Renaissance to contemporary. Whether the song is a dance from the time of Henry VIII, a jazz standard, or a rock cover, it gets a warm, satisfying, folkish treatment in the hands and voices of John and Stacey. While much of the music that the Sheldon Grove Warblers perform is traditional or covers, John and Stacey collaborate on original compositions and are also each accomplished song-writers in their own right. The Sheldon Grove Warblers perform at weddings (ceremony and/or reception), Christmas parties, backyard barbeques, clubs, music festivals, church services, or any event that can be enhanced by tasteful and joyful acoustic music. John and Stacey are seasoned professionals. John, who originally hales from the state of Virginia, was a founding member of the award-winning bluegrass band, The Moss Piglets, and has also been a member of Critical Moss and The Blue Drifters. Stacey, a native Minnesotan, was a member of the acclaimed Concordia College Choir and has made occasional guest appearances with The Moss Piglets. Both have sung in the Macalester Festival Chorale. John and Stacey each have classical training, hold degrees in music, and have been school music teachers. The Sheldon Grove Warblers draw their name from the plat of land where John and Stacey live, which is legally called the Sheldon Grove Extension to the City of Saint Paul.
