Description

Our group is capable of playing a wide variety of sounds, everything from Bluegrass, original acoustic music and Jazz to Blues.

Many configurations are available, from a duet of Guitar/Banjo and Upright Bass to a trio of Guitar/Banjo, Upright Bass, and Drums. If you desire a quieter more acoustic sound or bluegrass, the band will have a Banjo/Guitar/Fiddle, Mandolin, and Bass. I enjoy working with others to determine the best configuration and material to meet their needs. We can also furnish our own sound system as well.

Rotating Band Members include:
Jody Hughes-Acoustic Guitar/Banjo/Vocals
Jody has played professionally for over 15 years. In that period of time, he has performed on the stages of Merlefest and the Grand Ole Opry. In addition, after winning the 2006 Merlefest Banjo Contest, he was chosen to be a showcase artist at the Philly Folk Festival.

Scott Glazer-Upright and Electric Basses, Vocals
Scott has toured domestically and internationally, performing with artists as diverse as Grammy winning guitarist Earl Klugh, The Last Waltz Ensemble, Dr. Dan Matrazzo, Jimmy Hall, Carmine Appice, Liberty DeVito and many others.

Drummer-Marlon Patton when available, otherwise will be another professional drummer of high quality.

Bob Knysz-Mandolin, Vocals
Bob has been a staple in the Atlanta Bluegrass scene since 1982. He has played with artists such as the Handsaw Brothers and is currently a member of the Atlanta Mandolin Orchestra.

Feedback

  • The Jody Hughes Experience is the right choice for upbeat, casual, mulit-generational bluegrass music. We had friends and family from 2 to 72 dancing to the music! A good time was had by all. -- Greg D, Commerce, GA, 5/14/2011
