DESCRIPTION:
Sometimes the road to success lies in the unexpected. In the spring of 2004 up and coming country singer Shannon Reigns teamed up with members of Taylors Crossing to perform for a local fair event playing prior to Diamond Rio. Shannon’s powerful country vocals and the rockin’ power trio created such a buzz, there was no denying this was a perfect match. Taylors Crossing sound hits right at the core of todays hottest rising bands and duos. With vocal harmonies, and tight renditions of popular songs, they wow fans and critics with their own unique sound crossing rock, blues and country in the styles of contemporary country stars Sugarland, Gretchen Wilson, Miranda Lambert and more.Shannon Reigns began in 2002 becoming a finalist for both the Colgate
Country Showdown and Exalting Him where she finished ahead of thousands of other contestants. “The road hasn’t always been easy but all of it has given me the knowledge and strength to get where I am today. I’m thankful for the opportunities that were presented to me along the way and wouldn’t change a thing.” Shannons talents go beyond the stage to her songwriting. She has released two CD’s with original material written and co-written with Nashville songwriters Wayne Gerbrandt and David Fariver and published author Eileen Register. “Being selected as the artist of the week on radio
stations across seas was quite an honor. The support of my music from
people across the globe is something artists only dream about.” Shannon’s gospel CD has touched the hearts of Texas where she has received substantial airplay and a continued growing fan base. “I just write songs from my heart and it turns out other people relate to them. When they download a song like “It’s Not Easy Being Me” It turns out I’ve hit on something everyone is going through. I love when people request my songs at shows and tell me how it has affected their lives. “ Lead guitar player and band leader Leon Taylor’s talents span over 30
years. On stage and in the studio since age of 17, he has toured as far east as Philadelphia, as hired gun for several up and coming artists. His diverse playing has been featured on CD's throughout his career ranging from rock, blues, country and folk. Leon’s guitar is the driving force behind Taylors Crossings success as a powerful country rock band. When not performing live with Taylors Crossing, Leon is also a talented songwriter and producer. Taylors Crossing has had the opportunity to play venues with Sara Evans, Diamond Rio, Tracy Byrd, Carylon Dawn Johnson and more. Selected as the backup band for this years State and Regional finals for the Colgate Country Showdown this is a testament to their talent and professionalism. With a third CD release set for 2008, backed by booking and management team Dancing Half Moon Productions, Taylors Crossing is a driving force in the music scene well into the future.
