Amy Jones And Company Jazz Band from Van Nuys, CA

Hello! Thanks for being here. My name is Amy Jones, and I am a passionate, versatile singer with an amazing band! Our sound is powerful yet intimate and includes soul, jazz, folk, blues, and even a little country. We play songs that people love but don't expect! And if you have some specific songs that you'd like us to learn for an occasion, we'd be more than willing and able to oblige. I have spent the last six years writing, arranging, and performing around LA with guitarist Tony Pretzello, and the last four years playing with bass player John Grant. Piano player Misha Bigos and I met while playing together on a cruise ship three years ago, and Dave has played drums with me all around LA as well. We all have years of professional experience in a wide variety of environments. I can also possibly add a sax player or strings to a performance. My broad network of musical friends has made it possible to harvest and continue to harness a sound that is captivating, unique, and still classical. My performing experience goes back to childhood, but as an adult, I've shared the stage with bands ranging in style from blues to bluegrass. In 2011, I produced and released my own EP, and I have five years experience singing back-up for Grammy-nominated R&B sensation Nikkole, with whom I toured across the country in 2008. We opened for Boyz II Men, Macy Gray, Jon B, Bobby Brown, Ambrosia, Blood Sweat and Tears, and The Temptations among others. Along with decades of performing, composing, and arranging experience, Tony was executive producer and creater of Hollywood Trax, a half hour music magazine that was placed in syndication. Tina Turner, Jon Bon Jovi, David Bowie were featured on the show. Also, he hosted and produced a radio show on KRLA-AM here in Los Angeles called "Cued-Up." Tony has definitely helped to shape the sound of the band with his musical influences and direction. John Grant has played bass for many years and originates from Boston. Misha currently studies piano at USC after the cruise ship circuit, and Dave also drums in a kilt once in a while in a Scottish band. :) We will be an amazing addition to any occasion or party!!
