Nancy Scimone

NANCY SCIMONE (the 'c' is silent) is a multi-talented and seasoned vocalist with a simply beautiful voice and vibrant stage presence. Her "winsome elegance" (The Washington Post) has graced many stages from New York City to the Midwest and north to Canada. Working with Nancy Scimone provides you not only a great peformance, but also peace of mind that your entertainment is in good hands. She is a rare musician who shines in both the classics (Handel, Mozart and Verdi) and classic jazz, and is formally trained in both styles. In Washington, DC, she has appeared multiple times at the Kennedy Center, Smithsonian National Zoo VIP Fundraisers and major hotels. Jazz lovers have enjoyed her lush ballads and lively swing tunes at Twins Jazz, the Carlyle Club and 49 West. She is the regular performer at the historic Henley Park Hotel in DC.

Her orchestral experience includes soloist in Berlioz' "Les Nuits d'ete" (The Summer Nights,) selections from Verdi's "La Traviata," Bernstein's "Candide," Kern's "Showboat," Handel's "Messiah" and Faure's Requiem.

She is the leader of the Red Bird Jazz Band and also the French-themed ensemble PARISIENNE. The band's size and instrumentation can be 'custom blended' to reflect your vision for your perfect party, with the core band being piano or guitar, string bass and drums.

Nancy Scimone has extensive experience in touring with inspirational music with over 400 solo appearances in cathedrals and churches, and over 12,000 units of her inspirational recordings sold worldwide.
