Description

The Dickens formed with one goal in mind: to create the ULTIMATE PARTY BAND for a new generation of music fans. These five veterans of the Southeastern music scene have joined forces to bring audiences the best party songs from the last two decades, along with the older classics everyone loves. For anyone who grew up in the 70s, 80s, and 90s, this is your music!

The Dickens mix up classic R&B, classic and modern rock, 80s retro, reggae, old skool and current hip-hop, and everything in between. From Bob Marley to the Beastie Boys, Otis Redding to Outkast, the Stones to Snoop, Stevie Wonder to Sublime, it's a non-stop party. They often play extended dance medleys without a break, blending hit songs into more hit songs, keeping the audience guessing, the energy level high and the dance floor full.

Even the most serious musician will love this all-star group: Frank and Steve lay down a constant groove on bass and drums; Fran and John dazzle on guitar and trade off impeccable lead and backing vocals; and frontman Percy effortlessly charms every audience he meets while brilliantly emulating any famous singer out there. Best of all, their skills aren't limited to the stage – whether the event is a wedding, corporate event, college party or club date, the band exhibits professionalism, reliability and a make-it-work attitude that will delight even the most demanding clients and event planners. The Dickens are without a doubt THE answer to the common band.

Feedback

  • They were great! Could not have asked for a better band on our big night. They were outstanding and everyone loved their performance! -- Kelley D, Charlotte, NC, 8/9/2008
  • The Dickens was insane! We had nothing but positive feedback about them. Their energy and sound made our wedding feel like a show, I caught people watching them as much as they were dancing. The lead singer Percy was a well oiled professional showman that made our wedding legitimate. I would pay to see them anytime. The band was perfect and Percy has this huge heart and energy that we miss already. Thank you so much! -- Brian R, Athens, GA, 11/1/2008
