Description

Spectrum is St. Louis' Premier Variety Dance Band and has maintained a highly consistent performance schedule for over 20 years! We were selected by local event and wedding planning professionals as the "Best Band in St. Louis" by a national magazine for two years in a row. Spectrum Band was selected to receive the 2011 Bride's Choice Award after receiving the same award for 2009 and 2010 and couldn't be more pleased with that accolade. Recipients are determined exclusively by recent newlyweds through surveys and reviews to select vendors that "demonstrate excellent quality of service, responsiveness, professionalism, value of cost and flexibility". You can read about all of our awards on our comprehensive web site as well as review all of the features that the band has to offer to you.

Enjoy pop, jazz, swing, Motown, Big Band, R&B, and 50's&60's to entertain and satisfy the most diverse crowd at any event. The band's orchestration includes male and female lead vocalists, trumpet, saxophone, trombone, keyboard, guitar, bass, and drums to play all those great dance songs and keep the floor packed. Having nine musicians is not twice as loud as having four musicians but the difference is that the songs "sound authentic" with the proper instrumentation. Our primary format is the 9-piece band but we have many other options so it's easy to customize the evening to fit your musical needs and budget. We've performed at events as small as 50 guests and as large as 5,000 (while opening for ZZ Top during an IBM corporate event at the Scottrade Center), so we know exactly how to make your event a tremendous success!

Spectrum is one of the most requested and entertaining professional bands in St. Louis for private parties. We are one of the few preferred bands at the Coronado Ballroom, St. Louis Palladium, Renaissance Grand, Ritz-Carlton, Chase Park Plaza, Kemoll's Top of the Met, Kemp Auto Museum, Windows On/Off Washington, Sheraton City Center, Frontenac Hilton, and most of the local country clubs and the majority of our bookings come from recommendations made by the managers at these locations.

The manager of Spectrum band has been interviewed by Southern Living Magazine, Martha Stewart Magazine, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, and St. Louis Bride Magazine as an event entertainment specialist so the credentials of the band are widely recognized. The leader of Spectrum was recently interviewed by the international publication Modern Drummer magazine. The focus of the article was to discuss how Spectrum Band achieved the recognition of being one of the most successful local bands in the country while not having to charge prices of a comparable New York or Los Angeles band. The staff reviewed several bands before selecting Spectrum and we were thrilled to be selected for such an honor in a trade magazine that is one of the top publications for professional musicians. You can read the entire article on our web site.

You can quickly determine if we are still available for your date by reviewing the schedule on our web site. It's updated within 24 hours of receiving a contract so it's always accurate. You'll notice that Spectrum's schedule stays quite populated and we're very proud of that level of success as well as the many testimonials listed on the web site. You can feel confident that you are working with professionals that have over 20 years of experience and that we will still be here far in the future when your event takes place.

We are not a young inexperienced "bar band" or an agent or DJ company that offers multiple bands for extra income. We are also not an old band playing "elevator music" versions of songs. We are a full-time professional band and guarantee no "middle men". You will be communicating directly with Spectrum Band and we will personally be taking care of all your needs until the last song of the night. Spectrum is not an agency that "builds" multiple bands by utilizing a variety of different musicians of varying quality for each performance. When you book with us you will always be hiring the "original" Spectrum Band.

Spectrum will be providing features that aren't typical among local bands:

* A professional engineer is provided at each performance to unobtrusively monitor sound quality. This is a key to great sound for you and your guests! We don't have a musician awkwardly attempting to run sound and play an instrument at the same time on stage. * A continuously upgraded sound system and a new LED light system to deliver a stellar show. See the pictures for one of the most sophisticated LED light system of any local band in St. Louis. Don't let the stage size in the pictures mislead you since this was a huge stage provided for our recent New Year's Eve performance at Chateau on the Lake. We use a sophisticated in-ear monitoring system that eliminates the need for lots of stage monitors (speakers for musicians) scattered about on the stage that other bands use. We can set the band up in a very small space relative to other bands our size. * All musicians use in-ear monitors allowing absolute control of the room volume * A committed partnership with a "professional" production company (at no extra cost) guarantees complete technical confidence to meet any possible needs * A significant liability insurance policy is provided for your protection (always ask) * Over 20 award winning years of experience and national recognition to ensure success

One of our most important features is that a professional engineer is always on site for each performance to ensure that the sound/volume and lighting are always perfect! This means that musicians are not awkwardly trying to run the sound and lights while performing on stage. We provide all equipment including one of St. Louis' best state-of-the-art PA systems and a brand new LED light system for a dazzling visual experience! Spectrum is the only band in St. Louis that implements wireless technology to adjust the sound in the room. We can also take care of many other additional audio/video and staging needs you might have for your event at a reduced cost. You are more than welcome to use our PA and wireless microphone for your event.

The band is a member of the American Federation of Musicians and we can provide proof of liability insurance upon request so please don't hesitate to ask for any verification of credentials when you book with us (or any band). The leader not only manages the band, he also performs in the band so he attends each appearance to ensure that every detail is addressed. Let Spectrum Band bring this high level of performance experience, professionalism, and elegance to your special event!
