Shakedown is dedicated to ensuring your event is a success. We work closely with our clients, customizing the music to each client's needs, and managing the event entertainment to keep the energy level high and to ensure the night flows smoothly. Having worked with many event planners, brides and grooms, and wedding planners, we know what it takes.

We are a dynamic band of talented musicians with decades of performing experience. Having played together in previous projects at great Austin venues such as the iconic Cedar Street Courtyard and Speakeasy, and at private events all over Texas, the core of the band launched "Shakedown" as a new project to capture the essence of what a great party band should be.

Our 6-piece band includes two female and two male lead vocalists, allowing our repertoire to range from current hits to the 80's songs you used to tape off the radio, groovin' 70's disco/soul tunes that make you want to get your boogie on, timeless 60's classics that bring the house down, as well as country favorites. From Aretha and The Jackson 5 to Journey to Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Cee Lo, Garth Brooks and George Strait, Shakedown will stop at nothing to bring you the best party ever.

We can handle special song requests, such as first dance songs, father/daughter or mother/son dances (requests will be discussed during the planning of the event). We can also play softer cocktail hour music as needed during dinner or cocktail hours.

We provide a state of the art PA system that, in addition to powering the band, can be used for announcements, toasts, and recorded music on breaks. Shakedown can take on the role of Master of Ceremony if needed to ensure smooth transitions of events in the evening. We also provide dance floor and stage lighting.

• Shakedown was wonderful from start to finish! They kept in constant contact throughout the wedding planning process and they put on a GREAT show! • Wedding planning is stressful. If you do not wish your band to add to this stress, book Shakedown. They were dependable, responsive, prepared, on time, were EASY to deal with, EASY to pay, and most importantly, coach you through the whole process. As far as the music itself, they kept the tempo up, had all their ducks in a row, were practiced and tight, and I know without a doubt that ALL of our guests had a great time. There are a lot of crooks in the wedding/event business who disappear after you give them your depost, only to reappear just in time to throw things together. Not them Don't pay $5K for a band! • Shakedown was absolutely wonderful. They were great to work with leading up to the wedding in coordinating songs for the wedding and accomodationg our wedding schedule. Once the wedding started, they blew our guest out of the water. Just about everyone came up to me and told me how great the band was. They were a lot of fun and had great croud interaction. They used their lighting system well to enhance the party. They have a wide variety of songs that they can play and play well at that. • These guys were incredible performers. We loved them originally because they were talented--and all the other variety bands we considered had mediocre vocals. Last night one of the lead singers (who we loved when we saw them perform in Austin) had a substitute and she was fabulous as well. The band was very accommodating. They learned three new songs for our event and performed them flawlessly. They also considered all of our requests when composing their set list. Finally, their showmanship and charisma had every single person on the dance floor. They were interactive (our best man played cowbell on stage) and fun.
