About
Our instrumentation is mandolin, guitar, and upright bass. We perform swing by Duke Ellington, Fats Waller, Django Reinhart and George Gershwin...; Latin and Tango by Jobim, Bonfa, and Bizet...; traditional and popular melodies from around the world including Bluegrass, Irish and Scottish fiddle tunes, Italian mazurkas and tarantellas, Finnish waltzes, Jewish melodies; Blues and New Orleans roots music ; popular melodies by The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Sting, Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, David Grisman, Eric Clapton,and Jerry Garcia..; and more! . We also feature the mandolin and nylon string guitar on classical pieces by Bach and beautiful Irish and Italian airs. We perform this vast repertoire with a flair and grace that is only matched by our joy of playing the music! With our many years of experience performing with other musicians, we can easily augment our trio to meet your needs.

"They were absolutely wonderful! With no prior discussion or agreement they allowed two guests to sing using their equipment while they improvised playing along. It was fantastic! We received compliments all night and afterwards just how much the guests enjoyed the music! They were personable, experienced and provided our reception with just the right atmosphere! We highly recommend The Bernstein-Bard Trio along with their fiddle player!! "

"We had a recent party for my mother's 100th birthday and desired to have acoustic music for our afternoon biffet. The Bernstein Bard Trio set the perfect mood for a wonderful event. The music transports you back to a time when conversations can also be had by your guests. The style of music is also very adaptable to a variety of events - I could also imagine their music in an outdoor setting in Tuscany! It was lovely. Thank you!"

"Perfect band for my intimate wedding of NY jews and small-town Texas. They played everything from Israeli folk songs for the ceremony, to swing and country for the dancing and a great Hora.I wanted to surprise everyone by performing a few originals, so I secretly emailed the band the tracks before the wedding and they did a great job learning them. The bride in her wedding dress with a guitar was a smash!The band was extremely professional and talented! Eric Weissberg (banjo picker who played dueling banjos in "Deliverance") lives down the road from the wedding site and said he sat out on his porch and had a great concert all night long!

"The Bernstein-Bard Trio played at my wedding reception at the Beekman Arms Traphagan Inn in Rhinebeck in May. We got a lot of really positive compliments from our guests, and we were very happy with the band overall. They were upbeat and fun and did a great job. We didn't have a dance floor at our reception, but we had some couples get creative and dance to the music anyways! I would highly recommend them.
