DENVER'S MOST DANCEABLE BIG BAND

- I have a Denver home-grown traditional jazz big band called Dr. Bill Valentine's SERENADE IN BLUE SWING BAND. We play standard big band dance music of 1935 to 1950 and some 60's. The music repertoire includes ballads, waltzes, swing, Latin, and light rock dance music. My goal is to keep alive the music traditions of big band 40s and 50s big band era dance music; music that was played by Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, Glenn Miller, Harry James, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Glen Gray, Jimmy Dorsey, Les Brown, and other great big bands of that era. It is energetically rhythmic and inspires people to have fun. Dancers don't need to be trained swing or ballroom dancers; if they can move, we'll have them dancing. Experts will tell you, "give your guests good food, good drinks and a very good band," they'll make your party. We "animate" or breathe life into a party. That's what you're paying for in a big band. These are but a few of hundreds of big band dance standards in Serenade in Blue's music repertoire. We also offer a group called VALENTINE's BLUE GROTTO GROUP Band for dinner/dance music and a small group called the Serenade in Blue Chamber Group.
