Feedback
- St. Charles String Quartet played for my aug 31 2008 wedding. I booked them almost a year in advance after listening to their clips online and talking to Neil- he could not have been more responsive throughout my planning process. Everytime I emailed him questions or ideas he responded within hours. The day of they showed up and were totally self sufficient, which was great since I was busy getting ready. The music was great, (and as a former music major I'm picky!) they were totally professional, and their repertoire was extensive. They did traditional stuff for the ceremony that I picked, and for cocktail hour they did more modern stuff which everyone loved! -- Jessica F, Pasadena, MD, 8/31/2008
- St. Charles String Quartet rocked. They have two repertoires to select from and we went with the Pop/Rock option - it was perfect. It would have been enough that they were on time and played well, but instead they managed to get all our wedding guests to sing along to Bohemian Rhapsody. Never have I ever seen people sing along with a string quartet. Hands down, we recommend them to any venue and hope to have a reason to hire them again.
Thank you St. Charles! -- Timothy K, Washington, DC, 8/8/2008
- I could not have been happier with St. Charles String Quartet. From the very fist moment they agreed to perform at our wedding, I was confident in their professional abilities as well as their willingness to comply with our hopes and wishes for our wedding music. We received so many compliments about the music after the ceremony. The musicians were even willing to drive several hours down the Eastern Shore of Maryland to play at our event and their music was definitely one of highlights of the event. I would recommend their services to anyone in the area and I was very proud and honored to have them share our day--making it a very special and beautiful one! -- Amanda S, Westover, MD, 8/2/2008
- The St.Charles String Quartet is an amazing group. Together they created beautiful music which enlivened our wedding and our cocktail hour. They are willing to help you out and play anything you want to hear. Their professionalism is unmatched. They are a blast to work with prior and during the event and stay in constant contact to ensure a smooth process. I will recommend this group to anyone who wants amazingly performed music. Great job Guys!!
Green Wedding- July 2008 -- Derrick G, Washington, DC, 7/3/2008
- My wife and I were thoroughly pleased with the St. Charles String Quartet. We would highly recommend them for any function requiring a string ensemble. -- Eli M, Warrenton, VA, 6/22/2008
- St. Charles String Quartet was such a blessing! I knew I chose the right quartet from the moment I spoke to Neil. They came very early to the wedding and played all the songs I requested and much more. They were great! My guests loved the music and only had praises for the quartet. I praise and thank God for leading me to the group. -- Maria G, Frederick, MD, 5/30/2008
- The group was wonderful! Their music was magical and enhanced the wedding ceremony tremendoously. They learned a special request for the processional which brought our family members to tears - beautiful & sentimental. Thank you so much St. Charles Strings! -- Anne T, Washington, DC, 5/24/2008
- Fantastic group. Very nice to work with. Did a phenomenal job! Plan to use them for our next wedding! (Not yet planned, but within the next 2-5 years, we think!) -- Sara O, Mitchellville, MD, 2/23/2008

- They made a beautiful touch to our wedding... very professional! Will recommend to everyone! -- Gabriela B, Arlington, VA, 9/29/2007
- The quartet did a wonderful job. They really took the time before hand to make sure they knew all the details of our event. Our windy wedding day was made even more special because of their performance. I absolutely would recommend them to anyone. -- Lori B, Harrisburg, PA, 9/15/2007
- The string quartet is fantastic. They really went above and beyond my expectations. Everything was extremely professional. I was very pleased with their ability to do such a great job accompanying the vocalists as they had only a few minutes of rehearsal time before the wedding. My daughter's ceremony was over a week ago, and people are still talking about the string quartet and how their presence added an element of class to the ceremony.
We are extremely happy and will not hesitate to recommend the St. Charles String Quartet if and when the occasion presents itself.
Vivianne L. Baskins -- Vivianne B, Gaithersburg, MD, 7/29/2007
- Neil and his group were so great to work with and made my wedding planning from afar very easy! I booked them based only on online samples and when I heard them on the wedding day, they were amazing. Many guests complimented their talent and repertoire (from the classical to the contemporary.) They played for the wedding, cocktail hour and dinner making each transition with ease and grace- the perfect complement to our perfect day!
Teddy and Miranda Reynolds -- Miranda M, Charlottesville, VA, 7/28/2007

Fredericksburg, Virginia -- Ann C, Fredericksburg, VA, 6/7/2007
- They played beautifully, first of all, which is the most important thing. But what's just as important, they were flexible and easy to deal with about times and terms. They allowed me to attend a rehearsal to hear them early on, and also allowed me terrific range in selecting the program. They arrived early and played late, picking up the program cues exactly as planned. My fellow students and faculty at the War College were very impressed; I've heard spontaneous compliments about the Quartet for days. "They're a class act;" "best I've heard;" "the best thing about your ceremony was the beautiful music." And let's face it, nothing adds more class to a ceremony than the sounds of a live string quartet playing beautiful music; it puts the whole event into a higher bracket of taste and sensibility. I certainly plan to hire them again, although their current very affordable fee will doubtless go up as their fame grows in coming years. -- Paul B, Washington, DC, 3/26/2007
- The only words I have to share are the following:
The St. Charles String Quartet was amazing! They totally set the tone for our wedding ceremony...I highly recommend them! A truly impeccable talent! -- Aisha H, Clinton, MD, 3/24/2007
- St. Charles String Quartet was wonderful! They played at both my wedding ceremony and cocktail hour and my guest loved them. They were very accommodating at join at joining in with other talents (trumpeters and choir) for my ceremony. Neil is wonderful to work with and is a tremendous help with picking the right music. I would highly recommend them! -- Jennifer P, Washington, DC, 1/27/2007
- Our wedding wouldn't have been half as wonderful if it wasn't for The St. Charles String Quartet! Thanks Neil! -- Joseph H, Chapel Point, MD, 11/18/2006
- there are not enough words to express how impressed everyone was with this quartet. If you are hiring a quartet, this is the one to hire. They played absolutely beautifully. They handled several special requests including an original piece. I truly am impressed beyond words. They are the most accomodating, most beautiful and professional musicians. If you are looking for perfection- this is it. I would recommend this quartet to anyone throwing a wedding, party, anything. I can be really demanding and have very very high standards. They are the best. hands down. -- Amanda C, Baltimore, MD, 10/27/2006
- The trio was pleasant to work with and very accomodating. They learned a few songs that went along with the theme of my wedding and seemed eager to do so. I would recommend them to anyone. -- Philip R, Mount Joy, PA, 6/4/2006
- Neil and the quartet provided outstanding support for our wedding. It was almost as if they were members of our friends and family. We received great comments from all who were present. I have to mention that they supported a very special song by accompanying my guitar and vocals - they allowed me to practice with them prior to the wedding. A great value and truly talented group. I would and have recommended them and would use their services again. Thanks so much! -- Bob C, Alexandria, VA, 5/21/2006
- The St. Charles String Quartet provided the perfect musical backdrop for our reception and dinner at our conference. I highly recommend then.
