Description
Weddings featuring the Philadelphia String Quartet encompass everything from traditional religious ceremonies, to updated, secular vows, to exciting 'club style' events. Special requests for melodies from different ethnic or cultural backgrounds are always welcome. Our musical offerings are fitted to your tastes – the music you both like might be refined or rock n' roll, poignant or powerful, but we have it!
We would be happy to discuss the songs or pieces you'd really like to hear. Give us your 'top ten list' - tell us about the music you've "gotta have," or if there might be something under the "do not play under any circumstances" category. We're attuned to the vibe of the wedding party and play more (or less) of the songs and musical genres to which you and your guests respond.
Standard wedding music consists of a period of prelude music to provide atmosphere while guests arrive, a processional, the ceremony itself, a closing recessional, and a postlude. We seek out your ideas about specific music for each segment, offering advice on appropriate music if you are uncertain. There are always exceptions, so do not feel compelled to adhere to this structure - we can easily customize the music to your needs. Upon request, PSQ provides several different programs as examples, each designed with various wedding themes and styles.
