Greetings Island Music Lovers! The X Isles are looking forward to our 4th season with Gigmasters having worked over 80 dates last summer!
...from Buffet to Belafonte and beyond, The X Isles duo, featuring John Sippell (vocals, guitar, bass and marketing) and Rick Andre (steel drums, vocals, percussion and vintage tropical shirt collection) play a unique blend of Caribbean and acoustic rock that adds just the right mix of listening and dancing "Island Style" flare to any party or special event.
Nothing captures the mood and atmosphere of the islands like the sound of Caribbean steel drums. Rick and John combine the live tropical sounds of steel drums, acoustic guitar and vocals with their own bass and percussion arrangements to create an exciting full band sound all their own. From wedding receptions to cocktail hours, from corporate events to backyard barbecues... The X Isles are an enjoyable and economically smart choice to ensure any event is a success.
The X Isles are proud members of the Rhode Island Wedding Group and have performed for RI Monthly's Best of Rhode Island award show at PPAC, the Newport Chamber of Commerce and numerous weddings and corporate functions throughout Southern New England including Boston and Cape Cod. A favorite with the Newport summer sailing crowd, John and Rick have performed regularly at Newport's exclusive Bailey's Beach Club and Pier 49 in the Newport Harbor Hotel. In the summertime you can also catch The X Isles at Nautika Restaurant overlooking the East Greenwich Marina, poolside at Aqua (Marriott Hotel) in Providence as well as cranking out the tropical party tunes at Westerly's famous Ocean House lobsta-bakes.
For larger venues, The X Isles are also available as a five piece band with the addition of some of Rhode Island's most respected musicians: Rusty Hughes on Keyboards, Bill Miele on Bass and Bart Lingley on Drums. Look for us this summer and best of luck on all your party plans!

"Absolutely the best most talented in there field, accommodating to every request, interaction with our guest, and John and Rick, two great guys, respectively!
Made this event for my daughter's MBA accomplishment, a most memorable experience for all who attended, especially the cooperation of pulling off a flash mob dance, with eighty percent of the guest in on it, a big surprise for Tara.
Looking forward to seeing them in Newport, or the next opportunity to have them perform for us again, thanks.

"We booked The X Isles to play at our wedding reception and they were fantastic. Very thorough, responsive, and easy to work with leading up to the event, and they did a great job onsite as well. They provided the perfect hybrid model for us - singing/playing for a few hours and then DJ music for the second half so people could dance. I would highly recommend them for your event!"

"Everyone at the event enjoyed the Xisle so much. they certainly made it exceptional. The bride first only wanted it as back ground music, but when everyone got into it, she changed and wanted it to be party time. the Xisles saw this and changed to accommodate us. We loved the conga line...to celebrate a birthday. I cannot recommend them more highly... They made the event unique....and people kept coming to me during the wedding telling me how much fun they had...and thanking me for inviting them...
Hire the Xisles...I promise you will not be disappointed...they only tried to please...and succeeded completely"

"Would certainly recommend Rick Andre from the X Isles for any event! We had Rick play the steel drums aboard the Schooner Aurora for a sunset sail after our wedding in Newport Rhode Island it was a highlight of the whole wedding weekend! Great music, very accomodating as we had to change the venue (originally was playing at cocktail hour but had to change it to the schooner after we booked him). The steel drums were a perfect fit for our event and our guests are still talking about it. !

"Rick and John have lots of experience playing Cape Cod venues and their song repertoire and interactions showed it. They arrived with a playlist which allowed people to make requests. Their blend of pop, reggae and island tunes was perfect for our event. They arrived ahead of time to make sure they set up in time for the event and played as agreed.
Their five YouTube videos allowed us to promote their music before the event and build excitement. I would recommend them for situations where a talented musical duo can enliven an event. "
