Pure Steel is a high energy steel drum band that specializes in live performance for all occasions. Musical styles include Reggae, Calypso, Soca, Latin, Jazz, Rock, Classic Rock and original compositions in all styles.

The band was formed while performing with the North High School #10 Tin Can Band where they also learned to play and perform on steel drums. The band has performed had hundreds of events across Southern California including the Long Beach Convention Center, Long Beach Aquarium, San Onofre State Beach, Redondo Beach, Long Beach and San Pedro Yacht clubs respectively as well as hundreds of weddings and parties. The band has also performed several times for Los Angeles District attorney Steve Cooley.

Band leader Ted Goslin began playing the steel drums in high school when joining the #10 Tin Can Band. Soon after he was invited to join the Panic All-Stars steel drum band led by world renowned jazz drummer and composer Chris Wabich. Goslin has performed all across Southern California, nationally and internationally with Panic and Pure Steel. He is a former director of the #10 Tin Can Band as well.

• Ted was very professional and accommodating. Prior to the event he answered my emails and calls promptly. He arrived early to set up, delayed his start 10 minutes for our hula dancers and still performed for the full 3 hours. • I throw a building barbeque every year and had long wanted to try a steel drum player for the event, but with a mixed clientele from 20-70, I didn't know if the music would appeal to everyone. So, I hired Ted Goslin of Pure Steel to come for just two hours in the afternoon. As it turned out, we had about 75 people coming and going through the day and almost every single one of them commented to me on how "awesome" the steel drum music was, how well Ted played and how they wished he had been booked for longer.
