Magical Steel plays all styles of calypso, reggae, soca and Jimmy Buffett music and will provide the sounds and feelings of a beautiful beach at sunset in the Caribbean for your party. Bringing a lifetime of experience in blues, jazz and rock results in an exotic blend of steel drum sounds and favorite songs from all styles.

Starting with all of the traditional islands songs like Yellow Bird, Jamaica Farewell, and many Bob Marley reggae songs that are standards for any island party, we create the atmosphere of an island party with the haunting sound of the steel drum and lyrical vocals. Add the drink umbrellas, colorful clothes and some island snacks and you have the Caribbean in your backyard. These songs played in the traditional way are perfect for creating the ambiance.

But we also can offer other styles of music. As an extension of the Caribbean theme we play a full range of Jimmy Buffett songs. From the popular ones like Margaretville, Cheeseburger in Paradise, and Brown Eyed Girl to songs like Jolly Mon, Gypsies in the Palace, Grapefruit Juicy Fruit, Pirate Looks at Forty, Volcano and many others that you will love if you are a Jimmy Buffett fan.

Magical Steel consists of Bob Goldstick on steel drum, keyboards and vocals, and various additional players depending on the type of party. Amelia Raine on guitar, steel drum, flute and vocals adds a variations from a traditional steel drum duo playing island songs that make you feel like you are in the Caribbean to a true rendition of Jimmy Buffett songs with guitar, keyboards, and vocals that make you feel like you are in Margaritaville. The combination of steel drum and keyboards with flute and vocals also allows traditional Brazillian Bossa Novas in the Antonio Carlos Jobim style.

What you usually get is a tasty mixture of all of these styles plus almost anything your guest would like to hear.

For many parties we use backing tracks we've recorded for the bass and drum and sound like an entire band just with the duo. However, if you want a bigger and more exciting sound we can add a percussionist to finish up the trio.

You can also have a combination show of steel drum music and blues and rock 'n roll. For many parties the combination works well when, towards the end of the event, people just like to dance to their favorite party songs. This is one of the unique combinations that I can offer because of my years of experience as a piano player. You can choose from over 1000 songs from all styles of music from jazz standards to blues to the classic rock hits from the 50s 60s and 70s.

Whatever combination of music you choose, traditional Caribbean steel drum calypso, Jimmy Buffett Floribian or a mix of steel drum and piano rock, you and your guests are guaranteed to have a great time.
