Verne Phifer/ Christian Soloist Gospel Singer from Charlotte, NC

In a community of transplants, Verne Phifer is one of those rarities who happens to be a Charlotte native, born and raised – and also married to a Charlottean as well, Jessica Phifer who is his rock and love of his life. Verne Phifer commands a voice smooth and rich with years of practice and use. Gospel is his vehicle of choice. However, he can surprise you with a little variety of all styles of Christian music, singing light and soft, yet with conviction and sincerity. Nowhere does Verne sound more at home than when backed by a Choir and singing songs of hope and redemption. In 2007, Verne independently released a seven song CD of some of his favorite songs. The album (titled Revealed) is home to such tracks as "Field of Souls", "I'm Amazed", and "Somebody's Praying Me Through". Verne is looking to do more recording in the very near future. His passion has always been to witness to God's people through music. Verne has lent his gifts serving the Lord at Hickory Grove Baptist Church main campus as a soloist, choir member, Praise and Worship Leader, and Deacon. He continues to sing there regularly and at churches throughout North and South Carolina and abroad. In addition to Hickory Grove he's sung with the Charlotte Philharmonic and performed with Christa Wells-GMA award winner for her song "Held". Verne is clearly comfortable behind a microphone, using the talents granted by our Lord and Savior. When listening to him, it's hard not to get caught up in the joy of the Lord, and surely, he'd have it no other way.
