Description

THE VOICE The wonderful voice of Steve Swan when singing as Sinatra or any of the Legends of the Era has brought people out of their seats applauding, on to the dance floor, brought tears to eyes or gives people goose bumps. His Sinatra Impersonation - Tribute Performances are so good, a common remark is, "Even his eyes are blue.", although they are actually green. Steve Swan's performances can be classic Sinatra 'All the Way' or adds in Nat King Cole, Tony Bennett, Darin, Dean and Andy in the middle of the show for a one-man variety performance.

MUSICIAN Steve is a multi-talented musician and performing artist. He has performed with a guitar in hand since a teen. Steve plays cover tunes and original hard and soft rock, classic and original country, cover and original folk, a bit of original satire and novelty tunes, new age and Christian music. Steve is a singer, musician, composer and song writer. He is a real music man.

ONE MAN PERFORMANCE Currently Steve is most often requested to perform solo with backing tracks for groups from 10 to hundreds making it possible to have great entertainment within current entertainment budgets.

RAT PACK OR BAND? Have minimal budget restrictions? Steve Swan can can bring the whole gang on request. This might include the Rat Pack, Big Band performers from 1 to 17 in Legend Tributes. He played for years with a second guitar player for acoustic guitar harmonies or as a trio with a drummer for up beat folk and soft rock. Bring the band? Steve played classic and original rock for many years with 3 to 7 band members.

With Steve Swan you have many options. Just let me know what you want. As Steve says, "The possibilities are infinite but the cost varies."

FRANK SINATRA TRIBUTE PERFORMER Steve is a Frank Sinatra tribute singer that truly shines at the mike. His mature melodious voice and clear singing style is perfect for the timeless love songs and swinging hits of the golden age of music and dance. After a New Year's Eve performances, a woman commented to me,"My husband is the Frank fan, not me, but we both loved Steve." Another said, "I've seen Frank perform and listened to his records for years but this is the first time I really heard the words of the songs." A woman who knew Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack very well from her husband's Las Vegas after hours bar the Rat Pack frequented said, "Steve, you've got all the moves and your voice, it took me back. My husband would have loved to hear you sing. Simply amazing." Listening to a recording Steve made of 'I left my heart in San Francisco', a friend of Tony Bennett's asked where I got that recording of Tony. Said it was my husband. He said, "No it's not. I know Tony, been to his house, heard him sing for years and that's Tony." He insisted it was Tony all through the song. When the song finished he said, "OK, that must be your husband - Tony never could hit 'that' note." Steve is a very good singer with authentic inflection for any Tribute Standard he sings from the Golden Era of Music.

ACOUSTIC GUITAR - SINGING SAILOR THAT PLAYS AND SINGS On the acoustic guitar Steve serenades with original ballads, classic country tunes or plays from a long long list of popular music. His performance is stunning. When appropriate he can be very funny putting on a show or play to accent special moments and provide ambiance to a venue. He is a player that plays few purely acoustic songs, most all have lyrics to sing. When playing solo, Steve's guitars have such a beautiful rich tone that they seem to hum along. To have Steve Swan perform can make your event a memorable one that people talk about for weeks to follow. (Singing Sailor - We jointly own a sailing school. Steve is the primary 1st step or Basic Keelboat teacher. If someone is challenged by learning to sail but determined, he sometimes breaks the tension with a bit of song in style of Frank or another. They come in from their day more confident, laughing and happy.)

BAGPIPES Steve inherited a Scottish set of lungs that hold 1/3 more air than most. Steve taught himself to play the Highland Pipes in the early 70's just from listening to Pipe performances near his home and at Stern Grove. When he Pipes in the open he draws people till they surround him transfixed. Steve's notable musical talent that comes through on the Pipes makes his style easier to listen to for the lesser Pipe fan, which is perfect for parties, events, weddings and funerals. He is very proud of his Scottish heritage. Steve dresses in full regalia and loves to celebrate with Pipes the special moments of a wedding. Steve considers it an honor to Pipe an escort for a fine sole's journey home.

CLASSIC ROCK Want to rock? When Steve plays with friends, from 30 years of performing on stage, they can crank out good ol' Rock and Roll. Steve and friends play mostly classic rock songs from mid 60s to mid 80s with a few 90's tunes or newer songs on request. The band we can bring together for your event is 3 to 7 performers formed around your event with 6 weeks notice. He can and has sung rock to backing tracks in a pinch, "...But it is just not how rock is done". I think resistance is because people really hear him vs a band that drowns out the full quality of his voice. On our honeymoon we joined a karaoke evening. I insisted he give it a try. He choose 'Eye of the Tiger'. It stopped the Karaoke bar cold. No one wanted to follow that performance. After 10 minutes or so a 90 year old birthday boy sang his favorite song, very badly. It was so dear the crowd laughed and joined in again. He has on request sung soft or hard rock to backing tracks and could if asked. Steve is a master with many instruments with his best instrument being his voice.

MUSICIAN WHO PLAYS YOUR SONG Steve can play and sing a new song in most any style. He learns a song in 2 days, performs it within 1 week but sounds as if he'd always performed it in 2 weeks. If you want your favorite song at an event - you can have it. It is important to have the music you want for those special moments of life.

Take a moment and listen to the Voice and Music of Steve Swan.

  • Steve arrived early for the performance, which made me very happy. He accomodated my requests for dress and choice of songs. He has a beautiful voice and my staff enjoyed him. He was very flexible with the venue and audience. -- Cathy S, San Jose, CA, 8/20/2008
  • Steve was more than willing to bend in any direction to help us have the best possible experience. For Steve, it never seemed to be about Steve, it was about us. To top things off he learned a specific song, albeit one that none of us had ever heard on pipes, simply because Dad wanted it. Dad's at rest, we are blessed. We are happy to have come across Steve Swan, and hope to again. -- Larry A, Cobb, CA, 12/21/2008
  • Steve did a fantastic job at our Senior Center. He has a wonderful voice and is a great entertainer. I would hire him again to sing at our Senior Center or for a special event with no hesitation. -- Teresa E, Saratoga, CA, 11/19/2008
