Original songs and interesting arrangements of traditional folk songs, sung in a clear, expressive voice, with guitar and lap dulcimer. Songs about life, love, and the many odd detours we all encounter on our way through life and love. Many ideal for singing along; some sung in French. Also classic folk/rock/pop: covers of Joni Mitchell, David Wilcox, James Taylor, Paul Simon, Steve Goodman, Jesse Winchester, John Prine, and similar artists. Diane also offers programs the combine history and music, including "Songs of the Revolution" and "A Civil War Sampler." She performs songs of the era in period clothing, and explains the origins of the songs and how they reflect the lives and thoughts of Americans from all walks of life who lived through momentous events in our nation's history. Past clients include schools, museums, historical societies, libraries, and other organizations. Sing-alongs for babies and toddlers (newborn to age four) are a popular specialty. Newest program is "A Victorian Christmas," performed in 1850s attire, explaining the origins of many of our most popular carols.
