Ruth & Jordan Monsell, Silhouettes Caricatures

We are professional fine artists with a combined total of 45 years of experience in cutting silhouettes (profile portraits in cut paper) from live 5 minute sittings and drawing caricatures in 10 minutes. Your guests will leave with a unique heirloom to enjoy forever: their likeness, which can be personalized for your big day.

For your convenience, we now work out of two locations: California for west coast events, and Maine for east coast functions. We are also willing to travel almost anywhere you will cover our travel expenses.

Having a live artist at your reception or event lends an artistic custom touch and wows your guests, making the day especially memorable. The process is highly entertaining to watch, while portraits emerge as if by magic, using just scissors or pen.

We have extensive experience, having cut for weddings, corporate events, private parties, bar and bat mitzvahs, reunions, fundraisers, galleries, craft shows, and historical society functions for years, as well as aboard international cruise ships.

We particularly enjoy working at weddings, knowing that we have something special to add to one of the most important days in a couple's lives. Most frequently we do the bride and groom ahead of time so their portraits can be on display, framed, at the reception.
