Description

Perfect for dinner music, receptions, weddings, private parties, conventions, any event requiring a variety of smooth music. Larry is a solo musician playing a tasteful mix of secular and Christian jazz, classic rock, blues, Latin, R&B, classics and romantic music. saxophones (alto, tenor, soprano) and flutes, (C-concert, alto and piccolo)-with occasional vocals. His computer (affectionately known as "Mr Gateway and the Bytes") accompanies him---they can be quiet and sophisticated, loud and jukin', or anything in between.

Larry started playing R&B in the 60s when his band frequently fronted for or backed the likes of the Drifters, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Carla Thomas, Percy Sledge, Smokey Robinson and the Imperials, and The Tams. Most people say he has a smooth jazz style and with 15+ hours of music available, he can tailor his sets to almost any style or genre his clients desire. See the sample song list below.

In addition to the solo act, he still plays with his 10 piece R&B band from the 60s - mostly in South Carolina - The Sensational EPICS.

Feedback

  • Larry was great! He arrived early to place and test his equiptment and instruments. He studied the theme of the party to be able to play the special music of the era as well as seasonal and current music. Everyone at the party was pleased with his talent and accommodating manner. He helped make the party a success. -- Janice F, Tampa, FL, 12/10/2009
  • Larry came to play for our monthly Sr. Adult luncheon. He put together a great set of music playing the flute, alto sax, and soprano sax. Our folks loved it. We will have him back again, no doubt. -- John G, Bradenton, FL, 3/8/2012
