Description

Honky Tonk - Rockabilly - Rock N Roll.

"Philly rockabilly combo called Gas Money who just blew the roof off the joint. With pedal steel, stand-up bass, and a lead singer playing a vintage Gretsch hollow-body guitar, Gas Money caromed through a toe-tapping set of honky-tonk, rockabilly, and country swing that had everyone in the place smiling from ear to ear. As much as I (in my advanced years) appreciate getting to sit down for a show, it's almost a shame that there wasn't more room, because Gas Money is a band that people should really be dancing to."

Jersey Beat Jan 2009

"Playing unrefined, rocking honky-tonk with the Stones' looseness and Hank Williams' sincerity"

"Hopeless Love Affair offers a dynamic range of vision in songwriting that many Rockabilly bands tend to forget, with hints of punk rock roots that have matured to expose solid songwriting capabilities that shine through on their 12 track debut"

Featured on Bob Edwards XMPR show 2/13/2006. 1/2 Hour show talking about the new CD 22 Dollars. Bob really liked the band and the Americana sound we have and had me come down. Merle Haggard was there the day before.

From a wedding we did a few years back:

"You guys played at my daughters wedding in FEB. It was fantastic , people are still talking about it. Like to see one of your shows. When and where?"

Feedback

  • Gas Money was so much fun! Everyone at our wedding was dancing and really enjoyed the music. I wish I was throwing another party so I could book them again! Both their cd's are good representations of their live performance (and just good music), so definitely check them out. -- Joanna H, Wyncote, PA, 6/26/2010
