DESCRIPTION:
Since 1985 the Mystic Jammers have been touring as the premier U.S. reggae band in the northeast. If you like the idea of Bob Marley and Jimi Hendrix playing together then this is for you. This is true reggae and rock combined. Lon E. Plynton, the band leader, draws from his Jamaican and Rastafarian roots as well as extensive study in electronic music, composition and ethnomusicology.
Beginning as the “Monday night” band at their hometown club, Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel, the first self titled cassette release Mystic Jammers sent them on the road performing their single “Plant Yo Seeds.”
The live show was electrifying. Monstrous bass and stellar lead guitar surround words that serve as a clarion call to freedom. John Booth the standout guitar man, is identified by many as the Jimi Hendrix of our era. He is explosive, powerful, frantic, and yet precise.
Step Out was the first release for the millennium that seemed to sum up this bands obvious involvement with the liberation struggle. This CD release included many tunes that were only on wax and cassette.
The bands latest release Niya has spurred the band’s resurgence with strong message songs like “Turn I” and witty booty shakers like “Money is Funny,” which spent many weeks as MP3.com’s top reggae cut.For Your Party!
Professional and a lot of fun this band delights young and old with reggae, jazz, Caribbean, Motown and more. This band is great for weddings or any party.
We have up to 9 members, including steel drum, percussion, and guitar, bass, drum kit, vocals and backing vocals. We have many happy couples that have written thank you letters.
Satisfied corporate clients include Keyspan, Sam Adams, Iams, and many more, our references are on our website.

CLIENT FEEDBACK:
The Mystic Jammers were great. They showed up right on time and were prepared to begin playing at our agreed time. The music was great, good reggae covers as well as some great originals. The band was professional, polite, and easy going. A pleasure to work with - and even more fun to dance to.
