Melanie Zimmer

Melanie Zimmer has performed as a storyteller for more than fifteen years, and also operated as Dancing Bear Puppet Theater, performing in the Northeast and beyond. As Dancing Bear Puppet Theater, she performs in a bright red puppet theater, equipped with trap doors and carved golden dancing bears an its face. Her shows are sure to captivate a wide range of audiences.
Additionally, Melanie Zimmer has written two books for The History Press, "Myths, Legends, and Lore: Central New York and The Finger Lakes Region" and "Forgotten Tales of New York." She enjoys speaking about the local history, myth, legend and lore of Upstate New York. As a storyteller, beyond telling remarkable tales from around the world, she is able to tell historical and legendary stories from just around the corner. There is nothing to compare with the thrill of a good story, or the excitement of a live puppet show.
